OYSTERCATCHERS ON BLOUBERG BEACH

Ploverbeach we called it, the stretch of beach between Blouberg beach and the old Horse trails. A pair of Oystercatchers were struggling to hold onto their breeding territory while the area became popular with holidaymakers and new residents who moved into the area.

008 LONELY ON THE DUNE

Our hearts sank;
As we approached the beach along the Horse-Trails, towards Ploverbeach we noticed a lonely Oystercatcher on the dune, but not in the vicinity of his last nesting site.

As Oystercatchers only breed once per season could mean that their attempt was unsuccessful
